SUNDAY, MARCH 4TH:
It is cold outside. Damm cold! Ben said it is a good job. I hope it is really worth leaving my warm flat, today. I am driving into the city. A brown SUV hangs on my bumper. Someone told me to take care of brown SUVs. Can’t remember why. The driver must be drunk. Maybe all Jeep Grant Cherokee drivers are drunk.
After a shot drive, Janna opens the door. She wears almost nothing. It’s hot outside she said. I know she’s from the Ukraine but hot outside? It’s not even warm. It’s damm cold. Janna offers me an coffee for defrosting. The coffee is exactly what I need in this moment.
Janna needs some pictures for her lifestyle, fashion, beauty something on the Web. She shows me a book about American lifestyle.
America? Ben anways told me about jobs in America. Warm summer weather, beautiful girls and drinking a lot of Pina Coladas while sitting at a pool in Palm Springs. But now I’m in Munich. Back province. And it is damm cold!
Janna is a big fan of American Football. She tells me that she loves traveling and a trip to the USA is her biggest dream. As soon as her blog raises enough money, she will fly to L.A. and visit a game of the Oakland Raiders. That statement set me under pressure. Now, the photos must become perfect.
Janna shows me her latest OOTD for her beauty, fashion, something blog. It looks a little 70ties retro style. I like it.
It got late and I have to leave. All pictures were made and I fear they are not good enough. I worry it could be my failure if her blog does not raise the money for her trip to California.
On the way out, I am thinking about hiring a retoucher. Somebody who can conceal all the errors I made during the shooting. Somebody who makes me look like a great photographer. Make me look like the next Peter Lindbergh. Unfortunately, my bank account is in the reds and I can’t afford a retoucher.
A brown SUV overruns red traffic lights and is almost killing me while I load the equipment into my car.
FRIDAY, JUNE 1:
I found a letter in my postbox. It’s from Janna. She writes that her blog was a big success and she bought a mansion in Beverly Hills. I should pack my bags and get over here. The poolbar is waiting. This time I won’t get coffee but the best Ukrainian Vodka I’ve ever tasted.
Maybe Ben was right and my dreams of an trip into the USA become true. Or she just wrote me Tails of an American Summer.
